COIN MATH 1 :

PURPLE question:

How much money is in half a jar ?
There is 50$ in half a jar because if you divide 100 by 2 ,you would get the half of it which is 50 dollars .

RED question:

How much money is in the jar ?
There is 100$ coins in the jar .

COIN MATH 2 :

HOW FULL IS THE JAR USING CANADIAN COINS?

Currently, the jar is fulled up 3/4. In American coins that means that the jar has 1350 coins in it. But, if you used Canadian coins instead, and the same size jar, it would look about 1/4 full. WHY? Because there are 370 coins in the Canadian jar and 320 is one quarter. There is 370 coins which is more than a quarter , that is why the answer is that the Canadian jar would be filled 1/4 .

How high are the stacks of coins?

penny = 2mm
2 x 50 = 100mm

nickle = 3mm
3mm x 40 = 120mm

dime = 1mm
1mm x 50 = 50mm

quarter = 2mm
2mm x 40 = 80mm

loonie = 3mm
3mm x 25 = 75mm

toonie = 3mm
3mm x 25 = 75mm
