John's ratio homework


Question #1 and #2


1. Janine wants to write the ratio of oranges to apples.How does she know whether to write 3:4 or 4:3?

Answer:
4:3 because, the way the question went was oranges to apples
because there are 4 oranges and 3 apples!


2. Your friend missed the class that ratios were introduced
use an example and draw a diagram to explain the difference
between part to part ratio and part to whole ratio.

Answer:

Part to Part-Comparing a part to another part of the group.

Part to Whole-Comparing a part and the total in the group.

Sorry I cant get the second part of Question 2!

Your scribepost very understandable John.

For question 2, all you have to do is make a diagram (picture) showing part to part/part to whole ratio.
