Question #18

the ratio of the width to the length of the Canadian flag is 1:2.

A) The flag on the cover of an atlas is 12 cm wide. how long is it ?
A) The flag on the atlas is 24cm wide. how i got that answer is to multiply 12 and 2 , 12
x2 = 24cm.

B) A large flag outside a Calgary school is 3 m long. what is its width ?
B) 1.5 is its width. how i got that answer is to divide 2 and 3 , 2/3 = 1.5

Why would you multiply/divide by 2?
