After we where done we went to Salvation Army. We had left over clothes and toys so we donated it to them

Its wierd. Both ladies in each store said what are you guys doing? i answered with a simple reply. Where just paying it forward :D

Riemer Munoz's Pay it Forward !

What is Pay It Forward?

I think that we should help the world become a better place by giving homeless people money or give them food. I can also make a difference in the world by standing up to bullies. You should tell a teacher if someone is bullying you or stand up to them yourself by saying stop it or walk away from them. Do some good deeds you can do are chores, help around the house without being asked, and help people with things.

What was your Pay It forward act of kindness?

What we did for our act of kindness was donating our small clothes to the salvation army. Justin, Noel and I went to Salvation Army. When we went in there with alot of bags the workers said '' Oh, Thank you very Much''. They also said Merry Christmas. We did our act of kindness on December 8, 2009. We chose this activity because we had alot outgrown clothes and we didn't know who to give it to. So we gave it to the salvation army.

How did your act of kindness go?

To me, our act of kindness went very well. I felt really proud of myself when I put the bags full of clothes in the bin. The people working there and the manager were very thankful and one of them took a picture with us. When Noel, Justin and I went in with alot of bags, the lady at the counter opened her mouth really big and I think she gasped.

Why is the idea of Pay it Forward important?

I think that the idea of Pay it Forward is important because we can help every human being on what they need. I think that we made a difference in the world because Justin, Noel, and I donated clothes to salvation army and now most kids will have the clothes they need to keep warm in the winter. They can also be good looking :) An example is a project that my classmates did. Jeric, Elijah, Eman, Sierra, and Kamille went around the school presenting a charity called Koats For Kids. Koats For Kids is a really great example because we have donate our coats that we have grown out of.That is just like us but we are donating clothes not coats. That is why Paying it Forward is very important in my opinon.

JoshGuinto's PAYITFORWARD

What is pay it forward?

When I hear the saying pay it forward, many things pop up in my head. To me I think it is about changing the world just by doing small helpful things. Some good deeds you can do are chores, help around the house without being asked, and help people with things. If one person does a deed to one person, it should grow and grow until the world is a better place. This way, the world could be just like a big family.

What was your Pay It Forward act of kindness?

What we did for our act of kindness was that my group Jeric, Aldrine, Eman, Alvin, and Argie went too the soup kitchen too help out a little. ( I wasn't able to make the first deed with helping Moses ) My very first reaction when we arrived inside the soup kitchen was wow! I never felt more sad and nervous at the same time. There were so much people with mental illness. The manager Ruth, talked to us a little about the place and information about the people in it so we felt a little bit more safe. First, Ruth called up a team meeting. Everyone in the room had to say something about how they are keeping it simple for Christmas. It was fun. SO anyways the big part that we did was made buttered bread and chili.

How did your act of kindness go ?

To me I think that our act of kindness went very well! I never felt more proud, and I felt like I made a huge difference. When we were making the buttered bread I just loved how the whole staff were telling us how much of a good job that we were doing, and for the most part of it, I felt good deep down. When we realised that there was no more bread to butter, we wanted to keep on going and butter the bread for everyone. Not only that we are masters at buttering bread, but we have changed the community in a very big way! One thing that I also enjoyed about our act of kindness was when Ruth called the team meeting. The reason is because everyone got to introduce theirselves to everyone, and that just made me feel more comfortable and safe.

Why is the idea of Paying It Forward important?

The reason why Paying It Forward is important is because we want to help make the world a better place for every humanbeing. If there was no Paying It Forward right now, all of us would be miserable and no one would care for eachother and thats bad! We are suppose to be a big family. A really great example is a project that my classmates and I did. Elijah, Jeric, Kamille, Sierra, Eman, and I went around the school presentating for a charity called Koats For Kids. Koats For Kids is a really great example because we donate our coats that we have grown out of since we were babies. Imagine all those kids out there who don't have those things. They would feel really cold, so a really big thing we can do is donate coats, or any winter gear. Just 1 coat can make a really big difference! That is why Paying it Forward is very important!

Shania's Pay it Forward

What is "Pay it Forward"?
Pay it forward means that one person can make a big difference in effecting someone else's life in a good way. Sometimes paying it forward doesn't even have to be something really big like saving a life, it can be something simple like cheering up a friend. You never know, what you might think you did is really simple, small and wont make a difference, but through someone else's eyes you might of left a big impact in their life. When you pay it forward your goal should be to help someone who needs help then you get that person to help someone else and so on. When paying it forward you don't hope for something in return, you hope that the person you had helped is helping someone else who needs it. I think that if everyone really tried paying it forward it would work, so pay it forward !

What was your pay it forward act of kindness?
The act of kindness Princess, Elijah, Kamille and I chose to do was to go to the Childrens hospital and the kids some toys and other things. We chose to do this act of kindness because we know how much kids love toys. We also did it because its a good feeling knowing that you were the one that put a smile on a childs face.

How did your act of kindness go?
I think our act of kindness went better than I thought. It kind of sucked that we didn't get to meet the children who were receiving our gifts but I guess I understand, their only looking out for the kids. It would be really nice if the kids knew who we were so they can remember us forever, because I know I'll never forget this. Before we actually did our act of kindness I knew I was gonna feel good, but when we actually did it, it felt so much better than I thought. It's the best feeling knowing you helped someone in a special way. I'll never forget that feeling and I hope that in the future I can help someone in an even bigger way.

Why is the idea of Pay it Forward important?
Pay it forward is important because its good to learn to be giving to people who need just a bit of a boost. Another reason pay it forward is important is because it works, if everyone actually did a really good deed to someone who needs it the world would be a better place. At the same time, nobody and nothings perfect so you can't expect pay it forward to work, but its possible, anythings possible if everyone put the effort in trying to make the world a better place.

(see video on Princess/Elijah's post)

John's Pay It Forward

What Is Pay It Forward?

Pay It Forward is like helping someone but instead of them paying you back they help other and tell them to pay it forward. When the kid in the movie went up to the board he started to write down if he helped those three people and told them to pay it forward and each one helped three more it would just keep multiplying and multiplying, so if we do that now the world will be better.

What was Your Pay It Forward act of kindness?

My act of kindness was when, Me, Emmanuel, Jeric, Aldrine, and Argie went to help Moses the janitor with some of his work. We swept the floors, we also cleaned classrooms, hallways, change rooms, and the gym. It was fun helping Moses and it made me feel good inside. When we went the Soup Kitchen Me and the other guys felt scared and nervous I thought I might get hurt because one of the volunteers said some of the homeless people were drug addicts and some people with mental illness, but then another volunteer said if one of the homeless people say stuff to you just tell them and if it gets out of hand they will call the police. Once we were done with the Orientation we got to work we made toast and we buttered lots of loafs of bread and another school made chili for the homeless people. Another activity we were about to do but couldn't because they had a team meeting was they asked us to get a partner and a tray and put bars of soap, tooth paste, tooth brushes, and gloves to the homeless people but we didn't get to do that.

How did Your Act of Kindness go?

When me and the other guys did this we had lots of fun, because most of us never volunteered at a Soup Kitchen or help the Janitor. If you think about it feels pretty good, it's like your helping someone make their life easier or helping them with their job which will be making it easier.
Ruth already Pay's It Forward because she is helping these homeless people get a better future and she feels good inside just because she helping a random stranger. Moses also Pay's It Forward because he picks up garbage and other trash that other students just throw on the ground. So Ruth and Moses have been already Paying It Forward all these years.

Why is the idea of Paying It Forward important?

Its important because if you help someone and they help someone there will be a chain that will keep on going, and that will make the earth a better, cleaner, and safer place for everybody. Imagine if there is a family in need, they have no money for Christmas and they have kids if a group of people donate some food and some money that family will have a good Christmas and if they can manage there family, maybe they will help another family in need of food and money and they get help and if they can manage on there own and this chain will keep on going.
If you have the time go volunteer at a Soup Kitchen or maybe help a neighbor or a family member without being asked.

Devin's pay it foward

Part 1

What does pay it foward mean to you?

I think pay it foward means that you cant think about yourself you should think about other people and there promblems.Example if you see somebody that is hurt you should help them or tell a teacher or parent.Another one is if your family or A loved one has a drinking promblem you could incourage them to get better and if you really want them to get better you could pay for there reabilitation. It also could mean after you do something good to that person he or she has to pay it foward.

Part 2

What was your act of kindness?

Ronny,Alex,Kenny and I did A act of kindness. We put left over haloween candy in A ziplock bag and we put a sticky on it that says pay it foward and we put it on people's mailboxes. We choose this activity because we wanted to pay it foward to the people so we put candy in people's mailboxes. We did this yesterday right after school.

Part 3

Our act of kindness went good we put at least 20 bags in all the mailboxes. We asked the people to pay it fowardby putting a stickyon the bag.I dont really know how the people reacted but they were probably happy that we tryed to pay it foward.

Part 4

The idea of pay it foward is making a difference by helping people with there promblems or giving them gifts or babysitting for free.I think our act of kindness made a difference because we give to the comunity and we asked them to pay it foward.

Emmanuel's Pay it Forward

What is "Pay it Forward"?
Pay it Forward to me is like a whole new different level of the world "help". Because paying it forward, is like helping people, but so much more faster! Instead of helping the person that helped you, you thank them, and help someone else. So like in the movie, if you help 2 people, those two people help 2 other people, so they help 4. Then those 4 people help two people and they help 8! So the help just builds up more and more and more! As people help each other, the world becomes more friendly, safer, and cleaner! So as you see, paying it forward, is a great way to help people in need, and to change the world!

What was your Pay It Forward act of kindness?
For our acts of kindness, my friends Jeric, Argie, John, Aldrine, and helped our janitor Moses to clean up the school! When we helped Moses, we swept all around the school. We cleaned classrooms, hallways, change rooms, and the gym. We had lots of fun sweeping, because as a group, we made the best out of it by helping each other. A few days later, we went to a soup kitchen called "Immaculake Concepcion Tarish". In this soup kitchen, were many poor and homeless people. The manager Ruth, told us many interesting things about this soup kitchen. She told us that all the food, and other items like soap, tooth brushes, and tooth paste, are all donations! Also, there were many different girls from other schools that were working there as well. She also told us how this charity was started by volounteering teenagers! When we were at the soup kitchen, we helped make toast, and chili. The atmosphere in the building was much more different than I thought it would be. When we got there, we felt very scared, but when we got to meet all the volounteers, and workers, we felt more safe and welcomed!

How did your act of kindness go?
When we did these acts of kindness, we had a lot of fun, because I have never done those kind of things before. When I knew that I helped someone have a better life, or make their job easier, I felt like I have made a huge accomplishment. When we were helping our janitor Moses, we felt happy, and excited all the way through. But in the soup kitchen, when we got there, we felt scared, and nervous, because we didn't know what was going to happen, becauset his place was filled with many people with mental illness'. But when we got to know the staff, and the volounteers more better, we felt more welcomed and safe, and were able to enjoy our time at the soup kitchen much more! For Moses, we did not ask him to pay it forward, because when you think of it, he is helping to keep our school keep a nice clean image! Everyday, he stays at the school late to clean all the garbage kids don't take the time to to put it in it's proper place! Also for Ruth, the manager of the soup kitchen, we did not ask her to pay it forward as well, because every single day, she helps many different homeless, or poor people, by feeding them, and giving them supplies like tooth brushes, soaps, and tooth paste! So Moses and Ruth have been doing a great job of paying it forward for a very long time!

Why is the idea of Paying it Forward important?
Paying it forward is very important, because paying it forward is helping! With help, you can get a much more friendly and safe environment. Because if no one on earth helped each other, how do you think we would live? Well when in my opinion, we would probably be living a bad life! Because if no one helped each other, if someone is struggling, they would not be able to do something. Like if someone is living poorly, or on the streets, a way that we can help them is by donating clothes, food, or money! Same with countries in poverty! We always try to help them! And by helping them, we make their environment cleaner, and safer. I am hoping very much that my group and I's act of kindness has made a difference, because the whole point of this project was to try and make a difference. But in my opinion we did a great job, because doing this inspired me and maybe others, to volounteer more often, and help more people...just because!

Charis's Pay It Forward

Part 1

What does Pay it Forward mean to you ?

For me, paying it forward means helping 3 people and having them help 3 other people. Then it grows into a long chain. Paying it forward means alot to me. It means helping someone without asking for anything in return. If this goes on and on, then everyone in the world will have something to be thankful for and have something to remember. What the movie meant, was that even one person could make a difference.

Part 2

What was your Pay It Forward act of kindness?

One act of kindness I did was I volunteered at Victoria Albert School with Vanessa and Ammorn. Another act of kindness I did was Darlene, Ammorn, Vanessa and I handed out candy canes and christmas cards to students, teachers and strangers.

Why did you choose this activity ?

I chose these activities because they put smiles on peoples faces.

Who did you help ?

We helped a teacher and her students. We also helped students and teachers from Sargent Park School, and strangers put smiles on their faces.

What did you do ?

We helped the teacher make flash cards for her students. We made at least 5 sets . By the end of the day my hands were bruised, but it felt good. We also handed out candy canes and christmas cards to people.

When did you do your act of kindness ?

We volunteered at Victoria Albert on November 27 when we had no school and we handed out candy canes and christmas cards on December 7 during lunch.

Part 3

How did your act of kindness go ?

My act of kindness went really well. The teacher thanked us for helping out and some of the students made us cards and brang us out for recess to play with them.

What Happened?

We arrived at Victoria Albert, then the principal asked us why we were there. We then told her about the pay it forward and she allowed us to help around one of the classes. Also, people surrounded us asking for candy canes.

How did you feel ?

I felt very good because I like volunteering at schools or for other things. I also felt kind of shy because I'm not the kind of person who would talk to random people, but if I know them, I'm okay with it.

How did the person or people react?

The teacher reacted by being surprised, then she told her students that we were paying it forward. The people at our school were surprised and happy because we randomly ran up to them and gave them candy canes and christmas cards.

Part 4

I think that the idea of pay it forward is important because its helps people help other people. So then, the tree will grow even bigger and the world will be a very nice place. I think my act of kindness will make a difference because the people we gave stuff to looked at us like they wanted to do something for us.

Kathleen's Pay it Forward

PART1 - What does Pay It Forward mean to you ?

Pay It Forward may mean different things to others. For me, it means that everything can change by just doing one thing. It helps us to make a difference in our life and to other people. It doesn't matter who you are , what you are , where you are, You can help a person by just doing small deeds or big deeds. They will appreciate whatever you do to make a difference to their lives and they might do the same thing in return. Share a smile to everyone , sad or not, It will help them through out their day. Just imagine all the smiles that you gave to everyone, doesn't that make you feel happier and better? :)

PART 2 - What was your Pay It Forward act of kindness?

Me with Sierra and Michelle went to the volleyball provincials and handed out Christmas cards.

Why did you choose this activity?

Because it seemed like a fun activity and that it`s is enjoying to see the smile on people`s faces.

Who did you help?

We didn`t really help anyone but we made them smile by giving them candy canes and christmas cards.

What did you do?

We handed out Christmas cards that says `` Hope you enjoy the game and have a safe trip back home. `` There were candy canes inside the envelope too for treats.

When did you do your act of kindness?

We did our act of kindness at the volleyball provincials.

PART 3 - How did your act of kindness go

Our act of kindness went pretty good. People enjoyed it. Except when some people thought it was a joke and we were fooling around.

What happened?

People accepted the cards, some people rejected the them because they thought it was a joke and they thought that we were fooling around because we were recording it. We told them that it was about Paying it Forward and they smiled.

How did you feel?

I felt embarrased at first because we saw so much people and I was scared but then when we started handing the cards out and people accepted it, I felt so happy knowing that people appreciated our hard work just to make them smile.

How did the person or people react?

Most of the people were really happy and enjoyed the cards and treats. One of the person that we gave a card and candy cane even made the candy cane as his earing , he was smiling the whole time talking to us. This other girl who used to go to Sargent Park baked cookies and rice krispies for the team. It was really generous of her to do that.

Did you ask the person or people to Pay It Forward?

Yes , we asked them in person and it even said on the card.

How did they act to your request?

Smiles and thank you`s are what we got from them.

PART 4 - Why is the idea Pay It Forward important

Pay it Forward is important because it helps everyone to get together and make a difference. It can make a person smile. It feels good to know that someone out there are helping each other. Paying It Forward shouldn`t be ask to do , you should know already how to help others.

Has your act of kindness made a difference?

I think that our act of kindness made a difference. They can reflect on what we did during the time people needed a little cheer. We gave them smiles and they should do that to others too. It wasn`t that big of a thing but we still helped some people.

Harvey Pays it Forward

Part 1
What is "Pay it Forward"?
Pay it Forward is an ingenious idea, created by the author of the book, Catherine Ryan Hyde. Her book is now well known, even having its own movie and foundation (http://www.payitforwardmovement.org/ and http://www.payitforwardfoundation.org/) But the same idea is also described by Benjamin Franklin, in a letter to Benjamin Webb, Dated at April 22, 1784.

I do not pretend to give such a Sum; I only lend it to you. When you [...] meet with another honest Man in similar Distress, you must pay me by lending this Sum to him; enjoining him to discharge the Debt by a like operation, when he shall be able, and shall meet with another opportunity. I hope it may thus go thro' many hands, before it meets with a Knave that will stop its Progress. This is a trick of mine for doing a deal of good with a little money.
What does this mean? It means that we should all be doing this "Pay It Forward", but we're not. So now its our job to spread the word.

Part 2

What was your Pay It Forward act of kindness?
We did 2 things. The first thing that we did is we donated some koats to the "Koats For Kids". Second, we donated more things to the Salvation Army. Third, we gave the teachers some candy canes to lift their spirits up.
look at me, I'm in the same pose. :)

Why did you choose this activity?
I couldn't donate a coat because all I had were sweaters. We chose Salvation Army because I wanted to get rid of other unnecessary things that I own. I wanted to donate them because instead of ending up in the trash, somebody else could use it. Cause you know what they say: "Another man's trash is another man's treasure" right?

Who did you help?
In my opinion no one really, because I feel that I didn't really accomplish anything.

What did you do?
I gathered all the old clothes I could find and gave them to salvation army.

When did you do you act of kindness?
The day before this is due. The reason that is because we couldn't figure out something really big and creative so we opted for a simple one in the end.

Part 3

How did your act of kindness go?
I didn't feel that "feeling". You know, like that special feeling that you feel only after you know you've done something good.

What Happened?
Well, we gave them what we could give them, and took pictures while it happened. I can't really say anymore.

How did you feel?
I didn't really feel that special feeling, as I've described earlier

How did the person or people react?
I don't really know, but I don't think they were expecting kids to be donating anything!

Did you ask the person or people to "Pay It Forward"?
No.

How did they react to your request?
They were nice about it, and accepted the donations we gave them.

If you did not ask the person to "Pay It Forward" how come?
I didn't really want to. And besides, actions speak louder than words don't they? So I think my actions are enough that they will pay it forward

Part 4

Why is the idea of "Pay it Forward" important?
Its important because I think this is what the world needs to change into a better place. It brings people together through random acts of kindness connects them, like a giant family tree.

Has your act of kindness made a difference?
I don't really think so. It felt like it was just something we needed to do, not an actual pay it forward thing where your act of kindness was a kodak moment, it only happens once. This wasn't.

Carla's Pay it Forward

Part 1
What is Pay it Forward?
To me Pay it Forward means to help people in different ways. It doesn't matter who you are or how you do it. Help the world and make it a better place. Like in the movie, one person made a difference. If he can do it then we can too. Do nice things to other people, maybe they will do the same thing to more people and the people could do the same thing to more and more. You could say good morning to someone. You could open the door for someone. There are a lot of possibilities.

Part 2
What was your Pay It Forward act of kindness?
Well Althea and I went to the church and volunteered to mop the floor. We also made Christmas cards and put them in peoples mailboxes.

Why did you choose this activity?
We chose this because we want the environment to be clean and we want to help our church. We also want other people to smile and be happy. (:

Who did you help?
We helped the church and Althea's dad. Althea said he always mops the floor everyday.

What did you do?
I went to St. Edwards Church at 5:00. Althea was there waiting for me and everything was ready. So we started moping and Althea said I wasn't doing it right. I was like moping in different directions. She told me to mop up and down so it's faster. So then Althea told me she wanted to do another act of kindness. We made some Christmas cards and put candy on it. (: Then we put them in mailboxes near Sargent.

When did you do you act of kindness?
We started moping on December 1. We made cards before that, but we delivered them on December 2 and December 3.

Here's our proof that we did it.

*i do not own any of these songs*
Part 3
How did your act of kindness go?
It went well, and it was fun (:

What Happened?
Her dad thanked us. One of the neighbors was there looking out the window so we mailed it fast and ran away because I got scared.

How did you feel?
I felt really good inside. I like helping people and doing things for them.

How did the person or people react?
Althea's dad was thankful and the neighbors never saw us deliver them so I can't see their reaction.

Did you ask the person or people to "Pay It Forward"?
Yup. Althea did to her dad and It says on the cards

How did they react to your request?
Her dad said okay. Again I couldn't see the neighbors reaction.

Part 4
Why is the idea of "Pay it Forward" important?
It's important because some people are unfortunate in life. They don't have food, money or clothing. We could donate things to help them so everyone can be happy in the world.

Has your act of kindness made a difference?
I think we made a difference because I saw a lady watching us and she was talking about how hard we were working.

THANK YOU FOR READING MY POST (:

Michelle's Pay It Forward

Part 1- What does Pay It Forward mean to you?
I think what pay it forward means to me is that if a 12 year old kid could "change the world", just by making a small difference then, I think everyone can help even if its little by little. If we were to help people out just how that little kid did good deeds to people, and in return they'd do the same. I think we could make a difference in the world. Also if something negative is going on in a person's life you should try helping them instead of just leaving them hanging there. If people were doing good deeds, probably their life wouldn't end so bad in the future. What I'm trying to say is that young or old you can do something to change someones life or even help them. You could start off with just smiles, then start thinking of something big.

Part 2-
What was your Pay It Forward act of kindness?
With Sierra, and Kathleen our Pay It Forward act of kindness was handing out Christmas cards to people, and also sticking them on their wind shields.

Why did you choose this activity?

Because it seemed like a fun thing to do, and also its nice to see people smiling at you for giving them something and your just a complete stranger to them.

Who did you help?

We didn't exactly help anyone, but we made them smile.

What did you do?

We handed out Christmas cards saying "to have a safe drive home" and to pay it forward by trying to make someone else smile too. Also there were candy canes on the envelope.

When did you do your act of kindness?
We did our act of kindness at the volleyball provincials.
(see sierra for the video)

Part 3-
How did your act of kindness go?
Our act of kindness went well for most of it. Except when people thought we were going to poison them (or something) because there was a candy cane on it.

What happened?

Well some people were kind enough to accept the cards. Other people just rejected us because we were kids, and we were recording it and they probably thought we were giving something as a joke.

How did you feel?

I felt good after the people took our cards. (Even though after we were done recording it they tried giving it back, but we explained it was theirs to keep.) Also it was nice to see one father enjoying our candy cane, by putting it on as an earing and talking about it to others.

How did the person or people react?
Some people were really happy, you could just tell by their facial expression. Also that one girl, who used to go to Sargent was really thoughtful for baking cookies and rice krispies for the junior girls team.

Did you ask the person or people to Pay It Forward?
Yes, we asked the people to Pay It Forward, it even said on the cards.

How did they react to your request?
The people gave us smiles, and said thank you.

Part 4-
Why is the idea Pay It Forward important?
I think the idea is important because, it helps others to realize that if you do something good, it actually does feel good. Also the little things, we should be doing on our own, and not to be asked.

Has your act of kindness made a difference?

I think it made a difference, even though it wasn't the biggest thing to do. The Christmas cards helped them feel the joy in the season, and it said to repay it by doing something good back to others.

Elijah's Pay it Forward

What is Pay it Forward ?

At first when I heard, "Pay it Forward." I thought that it just ment pay someone with money because you owe them. But as I was watching the movie, Ilearnt about what it actually meant, but I'm still not sure. Pay it forward can have different meanings to other people. Some people might now know what it means even after watching the movie.

So what,"Pay it Forward" means to me is that we can change the world one step at a time. By that I mean we can all step up to help everyone who is having trouble. You can be an adult or a child and they can be poor or rich. It doesn't matter we all have to help each other. Like in the movie, someone does a good deed to you, then you'll have to pass on a good deed to someone and it the good deed will keep going. Just try to imagine yourself in another persons shoes. Then you'll know if they need help.

Get out of your own little world and remember that there are other people too. Even if your just a child do not get intimadated, just because you're small and young. Or an old person feeling like, you're helpless. We can all help each other by doing big things or just small things. At least you made someone smile. (:

What was our act of kindness ?

Princess, Shania, Kamille and I donated toys and simple little things that the kids would want. The reason why, was because we wanted the kids to have a gift for this season. We also wanted to see the kids all joyful because of the toys. But, first we had to contact the Childrens Hospital in 840 Sherbrook Street and we bought them the toys from the list. Our goal was to try to help all the children in the hospital have a gift. But I think that they'll just share the toys. We did our acts of kindness in November 27, 2009, friday , 11:30 am.

I think that our act of kindness went great ! At first, Kamille and I searched the Childrens Hospital's phone number in the internet. The next day Shania talked to Donna the girl who worked at The Children's Hospital Foundation of Manitoba. First of all we asked if we can give the children toys and she said," Yes, you can." Then she emailed us a list of things of what to buy. The list was filled with simple little things that was easy to buy like, coloring books, pencil crayons and cool bandaids. For some reason we started,"awwuu-ing" we felt sad for some reason. Then I saw DISPOSABLE CAMERA bolded, I showed the other's and then next thing , we went to Wal-Mart and Dollarama.

After all the shopping we spent about 95 dollars. I was happy with the result because, we spent money on kids we don't even know but we still care for them.. We then wrapped all the toys together. Then we went to the Childrens Hospital. I remember coming in the hospital with a big smile on my face because I felt proud because I've never done anything like this before. We were walking around walking to elevators trying to look for the foundation room. While we were walking, I saw little kids on wheel chairs and some of them were dissabled. I felt really sad, but I didnt show the others...

Then we found the foundation room and we met Donna and we gave her the gift. She was happy and pleased. She asked,"Why did you guys do this ?" We said,"It's for our Pay it Forward, so can you do a good deed too ?" She had a confused look on her face, but then it turned into a smile after. Then she said,"Will do" (:

Why is Pay it Forward important ?

The reason why "Pay it Forward" is important , for me is because, hardly anyone notice that there's other people that's less fortunate than them. So they don't do anything to help them. But not all people that you can help is sick or depressed. There's people out there that you can help by sending them cards or greeting them .. I think that our act of kindness made a difference. Well first of all, we reached our main goal, to make the kids happy (: . We also made the three nurses that worked in the foundation happy. It also made me happy, because I really never had thought of doing something like this before now I have ! I hope that " Pay it Forward " changed you too .

Kamille's Pay It Forward

What is Pay It Forward ?

Pay It Forward .. to me it means that anyone can make a difference it doesn't matter who you are or what you did to make a difference it still counts. Thinking about everyone else that is around you that's different can be harder for most people and others maybe easier but the best thing about helping Pay It Forward is that you tried your best even if you didn't succeed like that kid in the movie, you still did accomplish something .. in your heart and that's all the matter.

Another meaning for me is trying to make a change and it doesn't mean like a very big thing. It could the smallest thing that makes a big difference. Trying to make a change for me is doing something different that one else can thing of. Going to the limit is what trying to make a change and chances is the same thing.

Remember that this isn't for doing a " good deed " or don't expect anything for a return or a repayment. We do Pay It Forward because we care enough for others and that we want to make a difference !

I think that our act of kindness went pretty good ! When we got to the Children's Hospital we got lost at first because we had our directions already but when we went in they told us to go to a different place so we didn't know where to go but it was pretty fun seeing the place and since i was holding the all gift i crapped up well my arms did since it gets heavy after awhile so we had turns carrying it but we found the placed we had to go to. I felt awesome for what we did and it turned out better than i expected but at the same thing i was sad because it was too short for me so I'm hoping i get to do this in the future. The person we were suppose to go to reacted to me shocked at we actually spent the time to go buy so bunch things for the kids. honestly we forgot to say to " Pay it Forward " but she asked us questions about why we did this and we said its " Pay it forward" and more.

Why is the idea of "Pay it Forward" important?

Giuseppe's Pay it Forward

Part 1
Pay it Forward is a way of helping people. It works by you helping three people then those three people helping another three people.

Part 2
My group and I decided to do Koats for kids. We chose this because.....first we want to help people who doesn't have clothes or money to buy clothes for winter, and second we have lots of clothes at home that we're not wearing. We did our act of kindness on December 8 09.

Part 3
Our plan didn't work at the first place. We were supposed to volunteer to clean up at Silver City but when we saw what Elijah's group did, we decided to do something bigger. That's why we did Koats for Kids. We went to Perth's but they only accept winter coats so we gave our other clothes to Salvation Army. It's fun. It's cold but we helped some people. The person who took the clothes was really glad that we donated some clothes for the people who needs it.

I didn't ask them to pay it forward because I forgot to. The only thing in my mind was taking pictures.

( Don't comment about the video! I can't upload it. I'll just bring it to school tommorow.)

Part 4
The idea of Pay it Forward is important because it gives help to the people who needs help. I think my act of kindness made a difference because we just saved some people from getting sick and frostbites.

Alvin's Pay it forward

What does pay it forward mean to me ?
Well pay it forward means a lot of different things to me. One thing is helping people when they are in the need of help E.g ( When someone is short 25 cents when wanting to buy a bag of chips because they are starving) and later on someone might help you. Another thing is you can clean up the environment by picking up waste and driving cleaner cars or car pooling so that people in the future won't have to live with as much pollution as we live with right now. One last thing is that if you respect someone the same person will respect you so everyone gets together well then we won't have as much war and have more peace !

What was my pay it forward act of kindness ?
My pay it forward act of kindness was to go to a soup kitchen (were people that can't afford food on their own go both kids and adults) and volunteer by helping them prepare the food so that they could make the food quicker so that the hungry people sitting outside could be fed.

Why did you choose this activity ?
My group and I chose this activity because we wanted to help out and have a new experience at the same time. We never had been to a soup kitchen before and wanted to see how it was like inside because, a soup kitchen is where all the homeless people eat and we wanted to help out the people that cannot afford their own food.

Who did you help ?
We helped the homeless people that couldn't afford their own food so they had to go to a soup kitchen to be fed.

What did you do ?
We were back in the kitchen preparing some food for the people to eat. Our job was to butter the bread ( we had to butter lots and lots of bread ), so that more of the other adults could focus on making the chili that was gonna go with our buttered bread.

When did you do your act of kindness ?
We did our act of kindness on Sunday, December 6, 2009 around noon hour until late afternoon. We gave up lunch time to help prepare food for other people. Before the homeless came in to eat.

How did your act of kindness go ?

My act of kindness went great because me and my group got to help the volunteer's inside the kitchen by helping them butter lots of bread so they could work on the chili and we fed lots and lots of homeless people.

What happened ?

Well alot happened, first when we went in the lady gave us a long speech about safety and why people come here. Next she gave us a tour of the back room that had soaps and toothpaste all the way to the kitchen. Then there was a team meeting where all the volunteers would go and talk about things, like we all stood in a circle then we went around and everyone had to say how they would make there christmas simple and I said "Hi, my name is Alvin and I'm from Sargent Park and this Christmas I'm looking forward to spending time with my family". After that everyone got working on the food and my group was buttering bread. After we were done the same lady from the beggining asked us about our experience today.

How did it feel ?

Helping people so that they could help others felt great and extremely new and exciting for me because when we buttered the bread so that the homeless people out there could eat it I felt good because we conquered their hungry so that they could focus on other things, like finding a job or raising their kids.

How did the person or people react ?

The people reacted in excitment and relief because they had Jr.Highs helping them in the kitchen so they could finish the food faster and that they would see the youth of the community help them prepare food for the less fortunate people.

If you did not ask the person to "pay it forward" how come ?

I didn't ask the person to pay it forward because well there was so many, many volunteers, and that we were so busy doing this and doing that we didn't have much time. But on the other hand we did tell her about our project and how we were helping people buying paying it forward at the beggining of the time we were there.

Why is the idea "Pay it forward" important ?

The idea "Pay it forward" is important because it tells us to help other people and if the other person benefits from your help they will help more people then that person would help more people, ect. It also means that you can help around the house our your community without being asked and volunteer every once in a while.

Has your act of kindness made a difference ?

Yes I think we made a small difference at least !, because we helped the people in the kitchen so that the people that usually do that job can help other people so that they could prepare other food quicker and feed the homeless. Also that we helped make food for the homeless for me I think is helping the homemess people alot.

Elona's Pay it Forward

Part 1
What is Pay it Forward?
Pay It Forward is when you help someone, who needs help. It also means doing a good deed with no returns. When you Pay It Forward, you're making the world seem brighter. I love the feeling after helping someone. Their 'Thank you's' and their smiles. It makes you want to say, 'Hey, I just helped someone. And I feel GREEAT!'
Helping people, people helping others, makes everyone helping each other. Just like MJ said, 'Heal the Word, and make it a better place.' Do whats right, and help change the world.

Part 2

What was your Pay It Forward act of kindness?
I chose to clean up the entire house before my mom came home. I also made Christmas cards, and handed them out to every house in my neighborhood.

Why did you choose this activity?
I didn't want her to stay up really late cleaning it up. She works til 12am, and she usually sleeps at 3, so this is what I wanted to do.

Who did you help?
I helped my mother.

What did you do?
First, I started in the living room. Cleaned up everything there, then I washed the dishes. Went upstairs and cleaned there, then cleaned my room. Then, I cleaned the basement. It took me a total of 3 hours. (:

When did you do you act of kindness?
I cleaned the house on December 5th, then made cards that night, and handed them out the next morning.

Part 3
How did your act of kindness go?
It went great. I stayed up til my mom came, and she was very happy. (: I felt really good after this.

How did you feel?
It felt great.

How did the person or people react?
She was really surprised when I told her I didn't do it for money. Haha.

Did you ask the person or people to "Pay It Forward"?
Yes. I wrote it on the inside of the cards.

How did they react to your request?
My mom said nothing. And I didn't get to see the neighbors reactions.

Part 4

Why is the idea of "Pay it Forward" important?
The idea of Paying it Forward, is to help out each other, even if you don't know them, and feel good about yourself.

Has your act of kindness made a difference?
My act of kindness made a difference because it changed how my mother looked at me. She always thought I was so lazy, and would never do dishes. etc For the Christmas Cards, it made a difference because I'm thanking my neighbors, and what they've done for us.

PROOF. (:

Vanessa's Pay it Foward

What does " Pay it Forward " mean ?

There are many definitions for the three words, " Pay it Forward ". If we all get together and share our thoughts on paying it forward, there are so many different ideas that we could do. To me " Pay it Forward " means to do good unexpected good deeds for people and tell them to do the same and they do unexpected good deeds and tell others to " Pay it Forward " and so on and so on. All of a sudden everyone's doing good deeds and the world becomes a better place. Even if one person does something, they are still making a difference. I can help " Pay it Forward " by picking up litter, volunteering at a homeless shelter or a humane society, perform for sick kids or even for charity. I can go on and on and list so many different things that others and I can do.

What was your act of kindness you performed ?

The act of kindness I performed along with my friends Charis and Ammorn, was volunteering at a school, my old school Victoria-Albert School.
We decided to perform this act of kindness because since people help us out at Sargent, we thought we should do the same and help out Victoria-Albert because they've helped me out and I thought that it was a perfect opportunity to show that I am very thankful. This week, Charis, Darlene, Ammorn and I handed out candy canes with a greeting card.

How did your act of kindness go ?

Our act of kindness was fun and interesting. When we did our acts of kindness, I especially felt good about myself mostly because I know I helped other people besides myself. I'm pretty sure the others agree, it was a fun and interesting experience and I'm pretty sure they are proud of themselves too !

Why is the idea of paying it forward so important ?

I think that the idea of paying it forward is so important because we learn to help each other out and become an even better person. When you do an unexpected good deed for someone, it adds on and next thing you know everyone is becoming an even better person. It's pretty important because we're helping the world out little by little, even if it's little change, we're still changing the world. So basically, this is why paying it forward is so important.

Jeric's Pay it Foward

Part 1

Pay it forward to me means lots of things. Well the first thing it means to me is that like when you help one person with one thing, that person can help 3 people with another thing. Also pay it forward to me can also mean that even the smallest deeds can make a big difference in people's lives because it would mean that we care about that person. So really pay it forward would mean like if you help one person big or small it could change the world.

Part 2

My pay it forward was to help the janitors and the soup kitchen. We chose this activity because we realized that the janitors do things without being asked and they looked really exhausted so we decided to help them. We also chose this activity because going to the soup kitchen would have been a really good experience to see things we weren't used to. What we did was we cleaned some parts of the school like mopping and for the soup kitchen we buttered bread so we could help feed the hungry. Our act of kindness for helping the janitors I think was on November 30 and our act of kindness for helping the soup kitchen was on December 5.

Part 3

To me I think our act of kindness went extremely well. When I was doing my act of kindness I felt this butterfly feeling in my stomach like I know I helped and changed someone. When our group helped the janitors they looked so relieved to see us helping and it looked like they could use a break. When we helped the janitors I saw smiles and relief in there face and they could just relax. Also when the group was at the soup kitchen ( Immaculate Conception Parish ) I saw things I couldn't normally see in everyday things. When we were buttering bread for the homeless I felt really good to help in a community and help people who don't normally get the food we get everyday. So I think our act of kindness was really great.

Part 4

I think the idea of Pay it Forward is important because we want to help people in many different ways because we want too. By helping people in many different ways, we can change people and also encourage them to help others as well. For example, if I was to give a cold child a coat that child in 15 years could help another cold child who doesn't have a coat. Yes, I do believe my act of kindness made a difference in people because now, when ever our janitors clean, I can tell that they remembered our group helping them clean the school. This is why I think Pay it Forward is really important.

Princess' Pay It Forward

Pay It Forward
(What Does It Mean To
You)
To me, it means that it doesn't matter who you are, or where you are, you can always do something to change the world. It’s like what people always say "One person can make a big difference". I also think it means that you don't always need something in return every time you do or give something nice to someone. To me, the best thank you is the feeling that you get when you help someone. It’s like this, whenever I make someone's day or just makes them smile, I can't help but feel all soft inside, and I love that feeling, it's the best "thank you" for me. Helping someone doesn't have to mean get their job and do it for them, it means teaching and telling them how to do it, so the next time they can do it by themselves. Also if you ever want to help the world, think of yourself first, because once you’ve helped all your problems, that's when you have enough time to save other people's problems. They say "the easiest person to help is you".

Our Act Of Kindness
Together with Elijah, Shania, and Kamille, our Pay It Forward act of kindness was that we gave gifts like toys and other things to the Children's Hospital Foundation Of Manitoba. We chose this act of kindness because we wanted to to give smiles in the kids' faces and make them happy with toys and the things they wanted this season. We did our act of kindness on November 27th Friday 2009.

Results

Our act of kindness actually went pretty good, we kind of got lost trying to find the Children's Hospital Foundation, because we got different directions form different people so we didn't know where to follow. It was all worth it though, especially with all feelings gushing out of me. I felt so proud of the four of us. I never thought it would turn out like this. We didn't get to see the kids though. But that doesn't really matter because we know that they'll appreciate everything that we gave them. Somethings did really turn out as we planned, they were even better. The lady that we gave the gifts to was named, Donna, and she was very thankful of what we did. She said she wouldn't think that kids like us would do so much just to give smiles on the kids' faces. She asked what pay it forward is? So we answered , "It's when some one does some thing nice for you and then you send the good deed back to someone else". So we asked her if she can do that too and she said she'll do it.

The Importance Of "Pay It Forward"

For me, Pay It Forward is important because not a lot of people do it, and they don't notice how easy it is. Giving compliments are not that hard yet it can make anyone smile. Being sick doesn't just mean physically sick, but there's people in the world who are also emotionally sick, like some people are depressed, giving them greeting card won't hurt would it? By doing that you can help them believe in their self more. Pay It Forward doesn't have to big and beyond to make a difference, it can be small, and it can count a lot to some people.

I think our act of kindness made at least a small difference. Well I think we reached our goal, which was to make the kids happy this season. We also made the people at the hospital happy. So when they're happy I'll end up being happy too. Also I would've never thought of doing something like this, I want to thank all the teachers who helped up see how important "Pay It Forward" is.
